How do I specify the default dimensions for a room?'

Updated on

This Article explains the importance of setting up your room dimensions to help auto populate cabinet sizes.

The following information is critical, not only to help the ordering process run smoothly by auto populating cabinets at the correct sizes (Height x Depths), but also helps our Pre-Production Team have a better understanding of the job when we are checking your order.

What do these dimensions mean?

1. The overall height from Floor to Ceiling

2. The height of the Bulkhead / clearance from cabinet to Ceiling

3. The Fridge clearance height from floor to bottom of Fridge cabinet

4. The distance between the Benchtop and the bottom of the Wall cabinets / Underpanel

5. Is the distance between the Benchtop and the Rangehood cabinet

6. The distance from the Floor and the Bench

7. The Benchtop thickness

8. The distance from the Floor to the bottom of the Base cabinets

9. The depth of the Wall carcass*

10. The depth of the Base carcass*

11. The depth of the Tall / Pantry carcass*

carcass* - Door not included in depth measurement

cabinets depths always refers to the measurement from the wall to the front of the carcass which includes any back scribes.

eg. 560 Base cabinet with 16mm back scribe will measure 544 and sit 16mm off the wall. This makes this cabinet 560mm in depth from wall to carcass front.

The carcass heights have been calculated from the dimensions entered above

A. Tall cabinet height  = Overall height (1) - Bulkhead height (2) - Kick height (8)

eg. 2134 = 2400 - 150 - 116

B. Wall cabinets height = Overall height (1) - Bulkhead height (2) - Benchtop height (6) - Splashback (4)

eg. 750 = 2400 - 150 - 900 - 600

C. Base cabinet height = Benchtop height (6) - Benchtop thickness (7) - Kick height (8)

eg. 750 = 900 - 34 - 116

If these finals values do not match your carcass heights, the field entered above from 1-8 have been entered incorrectly. This will cause issues later on in our Pre-Production process.
