Metafile, What is it? How does it work?

Updated on

The Metafile is a drawer filing system made up of a set of rails and brackets that are attached between the back of the drawer fronts and the front of the drawer back. This system can be attached to any drawer runner system but there are restrictions in height, width and depths. See below for further details on restrictions.

The Metafile can be installed with the files running either side to side or front to back.

Side to side installation restrictions.

When installing the Metafile in the side to side method above use the following minimum dimensions:

All minimum drawer heights are 330mm

For Antaro, Finista and Matrix runners : Minimum width is 530mm (carcass width)

For Nova Pro Scala : Minimum width is 510mm (carcass width)

For Meta box : Minimum width is 480mm (carcass width)

Minimum Drawer back height is 280mm

Please note that with the side to side method any drawer depth is acceptable.

Front to back Installation restrictions.

When using the front to back method There are no width restrictions, however there are depth restrictions. For any full extension drawer  (Antaro, Finista, Nova pro, Matrix) you must use at least a 500mm runner. For Metabox you will need to use  a 550mm runner (COL does not offer Metabox full extension runners).

As with the side to side method all drawer heights are 330mm minimum.
